Le Chic Shack – Family Friendly Restaurant in Quebec City (Canada) with Delicious Burgers and Poutines!

We have pleasant memories of Le Chic Shack, a restaurant in Quebec City that offers delicious comfort food such as burgers and poutines. This is not only because it was the last meal before my proposal to Raevian, but also because we enjoyed the nice atmosphere and delicious food here. Le Chic Shack – Family Friendly Restaurant!

Le Chic Shack is a family-friendly restaurant located near the iconic Fairmont Le Château Frontenac, in the Old Quebec district. The menu offers items such as burgers, poutines and salads. For drinks, we saw an interesting variety of milkshakes, house-made sodas, wine, and craft beer. There are also vegan and gluten-free options. Hence, there is something for almost every one. Pleasant Ambience

Where’s Evan-tho?

The restaurant has a spacious interior with a nice homely design. There are plenty of seats along with large tables to eat comfortably. The restaurant is also suitable for families with young children since the tables are not crammed closely together. We sat at one of the window bar seats so we could watch the falling snow while eating.

La Chic Poulette

We decided to order the La Chic Poulette ($11), which is a sumptuous burger with grilled chicken breast, arugula greens, onions, cheese, tomato, pickles and remoulade sauce. This tasted as good as it looked. The meat was tender and juicy, and was complimented perfectly by the tantalising sliced cheese and tangy remoulade sauce. The refreshing arugula and other vegetables provided a balance to the savoury flavours.

La Classique

Being in Quebec City, of course we had to order the La Classique ($7), which is the La Cic Shack version of the classic poutine. In case you are unaware, “Poutine” is a type of food that originated from Quebec, consisting of french fries, white cheese curds, and savoury brown gravy. Our poutine came with a generous portion of fried potatoes, poutine gravy, cheese curds and fresh herbs. The potatoes were done nicely, with a nice savoury flavour and a tender texture. Together with the cheese curds and refreshing herbs, this was a delicious dish. On the whole, the La Classique had a wholesome taste that was not too rich or overwhelming. We had tried the Ashton version earlier and preferred this version instead.

Salted Maple Caramel Milkshake

We chose the perfect drink to wash down our sumptuous meal: the Salted Maple Caramel Milkshake ($5). I loved the rich creamy texture of the drink and its pleasant mix of sweet and salty flavours. I mean, who wouldn’t love a milkshake with salted maple caramel flavours? Alcohol-lovers can order the Boozy Milkshake, which is the alcoholic version of the Le Chic Shack milkshake.

Conclusion

Le Chic Shack is an awesome family-friendly restaurant with a spacious interior and pleasant atmosphere. It offers a wide variety of delicious food, including even vegan and gluten-free options. We enjoyed our meal here very much.
