One Two Kitchen Korean BBQ and Restaurant – Wonderful Korean BBQ Joint at Tanjong Pagar Road!

We love discovering new awesome food joints, and so we are really happy to have stumbled upon One Two Kitchen Korean BBQ and Restaurant along Tanjong Pagar Road recently. This is a relatively new Korean BBQ joint that offers delicious Korean food at very affordable prices. Update: it seems that this restaurant has moved to 134 Tanjong Pagar Road and been renamed as Guiga Korean BBQ Restaurant.

Great Ambience and Service

We love it when we step into a bistro and it feels like we have entered a completely different environment, away from the hustle and bustle of the noisy streets outside. And this was exactly the feeling we got as we walked into One Two Kitchen Korean BBQ. The well-ventilated restaurant exudes a hipster vibe with its graffiti-covered walls and artistic food pictures, complete with industrial-style tungsten bulbs and metal fans.

Service was simply awesome. We were served with ice-cold water immediately once we were seated, and our orders came very quickly. The polite staff also helped us to grill and cut the BBQ meat.

Delicious Food at Very Affordable Price

We ordered the BBQ Pork Set ($49) as we are big fans of pork belly. This super value-for-money set consists of 4 thick slices of pork belly, one steamed egg, and one large seafood pancake! At other Korean BBQ restaurants, such a set would probably cost upwards of $60!

Fresh and Succulent Pork Belly

The pork belly was presented nicely on a wooden tray along with some garnishing. The dish looked so pretty that we almost couldn’t bear to eat it! After taking several photos of it, we finally asked the staff to start grilling the meat. A short while later, the meat was cooked and I eagerly put a piece into my mouth.

This was it, the moment of truth. I was really hoping that I would not be disappointed by the taste because so far I had been really impressed by the ambience and service of One Two Kitchen Korean BBQ.

Luckily, I wasn’t disappointed at all! The pork belly was fresh and succulent and tasted great in my mouth. For my next piece, I ate it ssam style by dipping it in sesame oil and wrapping it in a piece of lettuce along with some Korean kimchi.

And it tasted heavenly.

Steamed Egg with Ideal Texture

The steamed egg is one our favourite Korean dish, but it is one of those dishes that is easy to prepare but difficult to master. We have had our fair share of bad-tasting steamed egg and we were hoping One Two Kitchen Korean BBQ would not disappoint. After my first mouthful, I realized that my worries were unfounded. The steamed egg had the ideal texture and tasted just savoury enough. We enjoyed it very much.

Chewy and Savoury Seafood Pancake

The seafood pancake was served in a large potion. It tasted chewy and savoury, and went perfectly with the sauce provided.
