1. 8 Korean BBQ
8 Korean BBQ8 Korean BBQWhen I first tried the Korean BBQ at 8 Korean BBQ, I was blown away. The service, ambience, ventilation and most importantly the food, were all wonderful. The hollow metal seats allow you to store your personal items inside – very useful if you don’t want your belongings to smell like Korean BBQ after the meal. I ordered the 4 Colors Set Meal ($58) and went for the “Wine”, “Garlic”, “Smoked”, and “Curry” flavours. The meat was succulent, savoury and simply tasted heavenly. The set comes with a Pork Belly Kimchi Stew. This was absolutely delicious as well and was one of the BEST Korean stews I had ever tasted in Singapore. The meal was quite pricey, but you pay for what you get, and the service and quality of food at 8 Korean BBQ definitely made up for the expensive price!

This BBQ joint offers lunch and dinner Korean buffet at an affordable price. This place has special meaning for me, as it was my first foray into the wonderful world of Korean BBQ. Service at Blue Garden is consistent and sincere, and diners get to enjoy their BBQ in a homely and unpretentious setting. There is a decent selection of meat available. Whenever I go, I will stock up my plate with plenty of juicy pork belly – typical kiasu Singaporean style! BorngaBornga - Pork BellyI visited the Bornga branch at Star Vista and it was an enjoyable experience. Even though the price was slightly on the high side, the restaurant offered quality and delicious Korean meats. My favourite was the thick and succulent Samgyupsal ($18), which is grilled pork belly slices. The restaurant provided a great dining experience too. Crystal Jade Korean Ginseng Chicken & BBQCrystal Jade Korean Ginseng Chicken & BBQ - side dishThis is a less well-known option but nevertheless, it offers awesome Korean BBQ. One reason why I enjoy coming here is because the restaurant is conveniently located at Takashimaya. The restaurant provides traditional Korean utensils and tableware, which enhances our Korean dining experience. Be sure to check out the Marinated Beef Short Ribs ($28), and the signature Authentic Korean Ginseng Chicken Soup ($28). Service was great too!

The meal came with Gaia’s Banchan set, which consisted of 6 small Korean side dishes. I enjoyed the pork belly, which was tasty and juicy. 6. I’m Kim Korean BBQ
I'm KIM Korean BBQ Cooked FoodI'm KIM Korean BBQ Grill PanI’m Kim Korean BBQ is one of the most popular Korean BBQ joints in Singapore at the moment. Located at SOTA (School of The Arts) beside Plaza Singapura, the restaurant offers sumptuous Korean BBQ buffet at super affordable prices. Hence, it is a big draw with students and price-conscious adults alike. I enjoyed all the Korean BBQ meats, but the piece de resistance was definitely the Signature Volcano Chicken. This meat was feisty and delectable, with a savoury taste that kept me going back for multiple servings. I’m Kim gets really crowded during peak hours, so it is highly recommended to make reservations to avoid disappointment!

7. Jang Shou Korean Charcoal BBQ
Jang Shou Korean BBQJang Shou Korean BBQ - Pork BellyJang Shou Korean BBQ - Pork BellyI’ve visited Jang Shou at Esplanade Mall multiple times, and I’ve never been disappointed with the food here. The restaurant offers quality and authentic Korean BBQ in a convivial setting. My favourites are the Jang Shou Dak Galbi ($25), aka ‘grilled spicy chicken’, and the Olive-wine Sam Gyub Sal ($25), aka ‘Grilled olive-wine marinated pork belly’. Both meats are of prime quality (trust me on this) and taste so delicious every time I visit. This may be a slightly pricier option, but I’ve never regretted spending a little more to enjoy the quality Korean BBQ here. After the meal, I will usually take a leisurely stroll with the girlfriend along Singapore River to hopefully burn off some of the Korean BBQ calories.

8. Ju Shin Jung
Ju Shin Jung Playground at West CoastJu Shin JungJu Shin Jung is a Korean BBQ joint that offers quality Korean meats in a convivial setting. We’ve tried the two branches at West Coast and East Coast, and both are equally up to mark in terms of service and food. The branch at West Coast even has an indoor ball-pit where children can have fun and expend their endless energy while adults concentrate on indulging in their Korean BBQ feasts. Ju Shin Jung at East Coast has a play area as well, though it is not as big as the West Coast one. Kids will love the ‘magical’ towels that expand when put in water. Be sure to try the Pork Belly ($35) and Marinated Chicken ($22).

K Cook Korean BBQ Buffet ambienceK Cook Korean BBQ SGI love going to K Cook to indulge in super affordable Korean BBQ buffet. The restaurant offers a wide variety of Korean BBQ meats, side dishes (Korean pancake, chicken wings, etc) and even seafood! This is definitely one of the most value-for-money Korean BBQ joint in Singapore. There is a large screen in the restaurant screening Korean pop MTVs so I can oogle at hot Korean pop stars while indulging in my Korean BBQ feast. Make sure to get a seat by the window so you can enjoy the city skyline view. With its wonderful ambience, prime location, and super affordable price, K Cook is definitely one of my favourite Korean BBQ joints in Singapore.

10. One Two Kitchen Korean BBQ and Restaurant
Pork BellyWhile walking along Tanjong Pagar road, we discovered another awesome Korean BBQ joint: One Two Kitchen Korean BBQ and Restaurant. The restaurant has a fantastic ambience which made us feel very much at ease. Service was great too; the polite staff served us water once we were seated and were extremely prompt with our orders. We ordered the BBQ Pork Set for $49 which consisted of 4 slices of luscious pork belly, one steamed egg, and one seafood pancake. Super value-for-money! But most importantly, the food simply tasted wonderful. The meat was fresh and succulent, the steamed egg had the perfect texture and flavour, and the seafood pancake was chewy and savoury. This is definitely our favourite Korean BBQ joint of the moment!

11. Red Pig Korean Restaurant (CLOSED)
Red PigRed PigRed Pig Korean Restaurant is another perennial favourite with Singaporeans. I ordered the signature Bbalgam Doiji, Red Pig ($20) which is marinated with the restaurant’s unique orange-red coloured sauce. As I bit into the meat, I immediately understood why this item is so popular with Singaporeans. The meat was juicy, tasty and savoury with a distinctive flavour different from usual Korean BBQ meats. This was definitely my favourite Korean meat in the menu. The restaurant has a relatively small interior, but on the whole it exudes a vibrant and lively vibe.

12. Wang Dae Bak Korean BBQ
Wang Dae BakWang Dae BakLast but definitely not least, Wang Dae Bak (China Square Central) is a Korean BBQ restaurant that should not be missed. This is a hidden gem located amidst a cozy enclave of restaurants and bistros in China Square Central. The restaurant offers both outdoor and indoor seating. I went on a Saturday night and dined al fresco. It was a wonderful experience, cooking Korean BBQ meats in the cool night air with the girlfriend. And the Korean meats were scrumptious. We ordered the Pork Belly ($18) and the Spicy Marinated Chicken ($18). The meat slices were tender, savoury and perfectly juicy without being overwhelming. We LOVED it! Wang Dae Bak also serves the popular grilled egg for free. It tasted sweet and savoury, and the girlfriend liked it so much that we had three servings (yes, three). Service was a little inconsistent, but on the whole this is a wonderful place to enjoy a relaxing Korean BBQ meal.
