1. Stroll along White Beach

2. Sunset Paraw Sailing

Directions: The Red Pirates pub is located towards the extreme south end of station three. If you are staying at station three you can just walk there, or you can catch one of the Boracay tricycle taxis. It is a short three minutes ride from D Mall (a popular shopping/ restaurant area on Boracay).
3. Watch the Glorious Sunsets
No trip to Boracay would be complete without watching its beautiful sunsets. On one evening, we stand on the beach at Station 3 to wait for the sun to set. We are duly rewarded for our patience. For a moment, time seems to slow down as the sky turns into a magnificent canvas painted with brilliant hues of red, crimson, lavender, and orange.
The last rays of the sun pierce through the clouds, tinting the sea with streaks of vermillion. I hold Raevian’s hand as we stand in silence for ten minutes to revel in the beauty of this glorious sunset.
4. Kayaking

5. Snorkeling

6. Food Hunting
In addition to the splendor of its beaches, Boracay is also famous for its amazing variety of restaurants. From Chinese to Japanese to Thai to Indian to Mediterranean to Italian to Mexican, there is definitely something that will satisfy your tastebuds.

We go for lunch at Aria Restaurant as it has pretty good reviews online. It is located at D Mall and serves decent Italian food including pasta and wood fire pizza. The pizza is pretty big for two persons but luckily we are big eaters and we are famished after our island hopping tour. Our favourite restaurant on Boracay is “Tilapia ‘N Chips”. It serves up kickass beer battered fish & chips which are absolutely delicious. The delectable dish consists of large succulent fish fillets with tartar sauce to go along, chunky fries, and coleslaw. It tastes so good that we squeeze in a second trip to the restaurant during our short stay on Boracay. Tilapia ‘N Chips is located at D mall. Click here for directions.

7. Island Hopping
One activity to consider in Boracay is traveling to the nearby offshore islands (PHP 1500 for two persons). These are basically small pristine islands where tourists can snorkel, have a beach barbeque, or enjoy the peace away from the crowds on the main island. We join one tour which brings us to three destinations: Crocodile Island, Crystal Cove Island, and Puka Beach. It feels wonderful to sit on the boat and enjoy the sea breeze and spectacular view of the beautiful Boracay sea.

On Puka Beach, we stroll on the serene beach and take a photo with the big iconic “Puka Beach” letters strung with the rare “Puka” shells. These are naturally occurring shells which come from cone snails. If you are interested, you can buy Puka shells jewelries from the locals who gather the shells to make beautiful accessories.
8. Parasailing
The highlight of our trip to Boracay has got to be Parasailing (PHP 900 per pax). For this activity, we go with Diamond Water Sports because we had read online that it is one of the more reputable sea sports companies on the island. We are not disappointed. The boat crew is friendly and constantly conducts safety checks to ensure that everything is ok before we parasail. Apart from the two of us, there are only two other couples on the boat so it is not crowded at all.

The really cool thing about this activity is that two people can parasail at the same time using the same parachute! After we get strapped in, the pulley system slowly releases us into the sky. As we reach the maximum height, we are blown away by the breathtaking view around us. We see the entire island of Boracay beneath us and it is absolutely amazing. We enjoy the magnificent paranomic view for a good fifteen to twenty minutes. It feels surreal to parasail over one of the most beautiful islands in the world and this is definitely a bucket-list-worthy item.

Station 1, Balabag Boracay Island, 5608 Kalibo, Aklan

Directions: You can walk to the Diamond Water Sports centre or you can simply catch one of the Boracay tricycle taxis. It is a short three minutes ride from D Mall. The company also has small booths set up along the beaches and you can spot them from their signboards and crew wearing the Diamond Water Sports uniforms.
9. Sea Walking

10. Stay at Shangri-La’s Boracay Resort & Spa

We arrive at Caticlan airport and are feeling a little lost. Luckily, the friendly Shangri-La staff finds us and we are whisked off in a van to the private Shangri-La lounge at the jetty. The trip takes just five minutes. The luxurious lounge is air-conditioned and we are served with cold scented towels and refreshing cocktails while waiting for the Shangri-La motorboat to transfer us to the island of Boracay. There is even free wifi here too! Shangri-La Boracay Resort and Spa has its own private jetty so we do not have to worry about jostling with other tourists. As far as first impressions go, Shangri-La definitely nails it.

We stay at the two-level Loft Villa, which offers spectacular views of the gorgeous sea right outside our windows. It feels surreal to wake up every morning to a beautiful azure sea with water so clear that you can see through it to the corals beneath.
Staying at the Loft Villa entitles us to the hotel’s butler service, and we are even given a mobile phone with a personal line to our private butler. I’m feeling a little nervous as I make my first call. I punch in the number and our butler picks up the call in about two seconds.
“Good afternoon Mr Tang! How can I help you?”
“Erm, we are at the pool. Can you send a buggy to fetch us to our villa?” (the resort is pretty big)
“Sure Mr Tang! It will be coming in five minutes.”
Pretty cool.

On top of the first-rate service and premium rooms, Shangri-La Boracay has its very own private beach. Therefore, we do not have to worry about the beach being overcrowded with tourists and touters. Shangri-La Boracay’s idyllic beach is laid with comfortable beach chairs and plush sofas, and the resort provides free snorkeling gear as well. There is also a live band so you can listen to soothing music as you chill out on the beach. We manage to catch another beautiful sunset on Shangri-La Boracay’s private beach.

how much did u pay for parasailing and helmet diving? Thank you.
Hi Glyza,
Below are the prices we paid, but the prices can vary significantly based on the agency you choose, the time of year you go, and your bargaining skills 🙂 We would recommend that you go for these activities with Diamond Water Sports. They may not be the cheapest but based on online reviews and our personal experience, they provide quality service and I felt safer going with them. Cheers.
Parasailing – 900php per pax
Helmet Diving – 500php per pax
Hi. May I know from where did you book your island hopping tour? Thank you.
Hi Nabilah, we went with Diamond Water Sports.

Hi Evans!
I read and enjoyed your blog post on the Boracay activities. In fact, I plan to do most of the fun things you talked about. I’ll be there in December, and I’m interested in the paraw sunset sailing with Red Pirates. I want to know if I should book in advance or if on-the-spot arrangements are ok? What did you do? Thank you and many more happy trips to you.
Cheers!
Hi E,
Thanks for your email and we are happy that you enjoyed our post 🙂
I went at about 4pm to the red pirates pub and arranged for the paraw sunset sailing tour that same day at 6pm – check with them for the best time to catch the sunset!
Sorry but im not sure if its possible to prearrange. However I think u can probably go there and get a tour later in the same day like we did. If not, you could arrange for a timing the next day.
You might want to drop them a facebook message or give them a call? They also have a blog where u can read about their activities.

Hi, how much is the paraw sailing? Thanks!
Hi Cess we went with Red Pirates and it was about PHP 1000 for two persons.
Hello. If i want to do parasailing, helmet diving, zipline and island hopping, how much would the cost be?
Hi GG,
Prices can vary significantly based on your agency and how well you bargain 🙂 We recommend going with Diamond Water Sports (directions to this agency is in the article above). Below is a rough guide:
Parasailing – 900php per pax
Helmet Diving – 500php per pax
Island Hopping (Crocodile Island, Crystal Cove Island, Puka Beach) – 1500php for two persons
Zipline – 700php per pax
I remember that icky feeling of sand from childhood but that was before I felt the sand of Boracay! It’s truly different. You won’t feel that icky feeling there. Boracay’s golden fine sand is so soft; it was only then that I started to love walking barefooted in the sand. Hopefully it’s still the same and they managed to maintain it even with the numerous tourists going there each year. But be careful when the sun comes up, you should be wearing those flip-flops because the hot sand can burn your feet!
Hi Alice thanks for your intimate commentary 🙂
Hi can I check where did you arrange for your island hopping in Boracay that included 3 islands?
Can I find out the price as well? I’m traveling there from 12-17june.
Thank you and I look forward to your reply.
Hi Hong Yuan, we went with Diamond Water Sports, and it cost about 1500 php for two persons.
Hi, can I know for the tours you took, did you book online or did you purchase the tours directly from the agents in Boracay? Or were the tours booked through hotels? I’m really unsure how I should go about booking.
Hi Ezer,
Before we went to Boracay, we researched online to find reputable tour agencies in Boracay. However, it wasn’t possible to book online from these agents so we only purchased the tours when we arrived in Boracay. We bought them at the earliest possible chance because we were worried that there would be no vacancies. Below are the agencies we used. They are not the cheapest but they have good reputations for being safe and reliable. Their locations and contact details are in the article above.
Sunset Paraw Sailing: Red Pirates
Snorkeling / Island Hopping / Parasailing / Sea Walking: Diamond Water Sports.
