10 Must-Try Snacks at Tokyo DisneySea – Nemo Churros, Toy Story Alien Mochi, Honey Popcorns & More!

During our visit to Tokyo DisneySea, the wife and I ate plenty of delicious snacks! The theme park is huge, so it was great that we could munch on snacks while walking between the rides and attractions. Below I have listed down ten awesome snacks in Tokyo DisneySea, along with their respective locations and “ports”. Enjoy these delicious treats while having fun at “The Happiest Place On Earth”!

1. Little Green Men Mochi Dumplings

The Little Green Men Mochi Dumplings (¥360) are chilled Japanese mochis created in the shape of the Toy Story squishy green alien toys.

The three mochis each had a different flavour: chocolate cream, custard cream, and strawberry cream.

These were the cutest snacks in DisneySea! It tucked at my heart strings to eat these little mochi dumplings, but I put them in my mouth anyway.

They were really chewy and sweet, without being off-puttingly sticky. My favourite flavour was the strawberry cream, which was very fragrant and had a pleasant aftertaste.

Eating these alien mochis reminded me of the movie scene where the aliens were ecstatic to leave the claw machine, because they thought they were entering nirvana. Only this time they were leaving the mobile fridge and going into my mouth.

2. Ukiwa Buns

Ukiwa Buns (¥500) are steamed buns with shrimp fillings, shaped like lifebuoys and packed in a cute Donald Duck wrapper.

The buns were soft and fluffy, and the shrimp fillings were hot and savoury. On the whole I found this to be a comforting and satisfying Chinese-style snack.

3. Nemo Churros

Nemo Churros (¥360) are orange-flavoured churros with orange and white stripes, just like Nemo! This cute snack is crunchy and crispy with a pleasant orange fragrance.

4. Popcorns with Outrageous Flavours

The wife and I were excited to check out the super famous Disney popcorns, known for their creative flavours! Tokyo DisneySea offers eight flavours: Caramel, Garlic Shrimp, Strawberry, Milk Chocolate, Honey, Salt, Curry, and Chinese Chilli.

The wife and I wanted to try the Milk Chocolate flavour but to our dismay the queue was really long. There were at least 30 people queueing, consisting mainly of locals. I think the Japanese enjoy queueing even more than Singaporeans.

Therefore, we decided to settle for a box of the Garlic Shrimp popcorn instead, which had a much shorter queue. These were quite tasty and savoury and tasted like, well, garlic and shrimp.

The popcorns prices are ¥2,300 for a bucket, ¥500 for a bucket refill, and ¥350 for a regular box.

The popcorn booths each have a special bucket design, including a Buzz Lightyear design, Duffy design, Nemo design,  Cars design, etc. I really wanted to get the Buzz Lightyear bucket but the wife convinced me that it was too expensive.

You can refer to the table above to find out the locations of the respective popcorn stands (as of 30 August 2019).

5. Yucatan Sausage Rolls

Yucatan Sausage Rolls are hot sausages wrapped in crisp and chewy toasted bread.

I enjoyed eating the tasty sausage and the warm bread. This is basically a sausage bun, so it can’t really go wrong. This was the last snack we ate at Tokyo DisneySea and it was a good way to end our day.

6. Gyoza Dog

Walk towards this sign and go downstairs to get to Nautilus Galley

The Gyoza Dog (¥500) is a large steamed bun snack with pork meat fillings. It was very satisfying to bite into this soft and warm bun filled with hot savoury pork.

The snack is quite big so I recommend sharing it between two people. The wife and I ate one Gyoza Dog each and felt really full afterwards.

We had some difficulty locating this snack because it is not sold along the street, but is instead located at the underground restaurant Nautilus Galley (see picture above).

7. Potato Churro

The Potato Churro (¥360) is essentially a huge French fry that is savoury and crispy.

8. Tiramisu Ice Cream Sandwich

The Tiramisu Ice Cream Sandwich (¥310) is a popular Disney treat that has quite a few online raves. This is one packaged ice cream that actually tastes good.

9. Mickey Ice Pop

The Mickey Ice Pop (¥310) is a Mickey-shaped ice pop that comes in various flavours. We decided to get the Peach & Raspberry flavour.

I enjoyed eating this sweet ice pop because it was a great way to cool down after exploring the large theme park. And the Mickey shape was quite cute too.

10. Sea Salt Ice Cream Monaka

The Sea Salt Ice Cream Monaka (¥310) comprises sea salt ice cream sandwiched between two seashell-shaped crispy wafers. The ice cream has a nice balance of sweet and salty flavours.

Conclusion

As you can see, most of the Tokyo DisneySea snacks have an Asian slant. The wife and I enjoyed eating these Asian fusion snacks. Several of the snack stalls we visited had very long queues. For example, we saw many people queueing at the popcorn stalls that sell popular flavours like Milk Chocolate and Honey. We decided not to queue for these popcorns because we only had one day to spend at the theme park and therefore time was precious.
