Petit Pain – Homely Bakery at Joo Chiat With Daily Long Queue, Must Try Their Crispy Croissant!

Petit Pain is a small bakery at Joo Chiat Road famous for their delicious croissants. This popular bakery near Mr and Mrs Mohgan Prata sees long queues every day – I went down 10 minutes before opening time on a Saturday and there was already a long line of customers patiently waiting outside the shop! I had to wait around 45 minutes to get my pastries.

The bakery has a cozy and homely interior decorated with various pieces of elegant Scandinavian furniture.

Menu

Note that the breads are baked at certain times throughout the day. If you go too late after the baking time they will probably be sold out.

Classic Croissant

After trying their Classic Croissant ($3), I can understand the hype around this bakery.

It was baked perfectly with a super crispy exterior and a fluffy multi-layered interior with good chew.

The texture was not too dry and there was a rich buttery scent in every bite.

Pain Au Chocolate

The Pain Au Chocolate ($3.50) combines the flaky and fluffy puff pastry with sweet yet slightly bitter balanced chocolate.

The chunks of glazed apple fillings hidden inside the Apple Danish ($3.80) lent a sweet-tangy boost of flavour in each bite.

Conclusion

Would I queue 45 minutes again for the pastries here? All things considered, yes I would. Petit Pain makes delicious pastries that are affordable for everyone without compromising quality and tradition. In addition, their homely bakery offers an intimate and welcoming experience for customers. Good things are worth waiting for!
