The Chocolate Factory, Khao Yai – Great Place To Enjoy Thai-Western Cuisine and Handmade Chocolates

During my holiday in Khao Yai, I had a pleasant meal at The Chocolate Factory, Khao Yai. This is my full review of this interesting restaurant / chocolate shop.

The Chocolate Factory, Khao Yai

The Chocolate Factory, Khao Yai is a complex made up of two buildings. One building houses a restaurant serving Thai-Western fusion food, while the other is home to a fun chocolate shop. There is also a small playground on the premise.

Restaurant

The restaurant sells a wide variety of both Western and Thai dishes, such as pizza, pasta, BBQ pork ribs, steaks, Tom Yum Soup, Fried Shrimp Cake, Green Curry, etc.

It is a bright and casual space with a contemporary interior design. Service was decent but a little slow.

Prices are not cheap but still reasonable, ranging between THB180 to THB350 (excluding 10% service charge) for the main dishes.

I dined here with my family, and below are the dishes we ordered.

The Stir Fried Chicken With Cashew (THB180) was a simple but delicious dish. The chicken chunks were tender with a savoury-sweet flavour, perfect for pairing with the steaming hot rice.

Despite its less than pleasant appearance, the Fried Rice With Crab Meat (THB240) was surprisingly tasty. The fried rice was hot and savoury, but the highlight was the soft shell crab. It was crispy enough to provide crunch, but soft enough to give way to the tender crab meat once in my mouth.

The Spaghetti Kee Mao Seafood (THB320) is a Thai-Western fusion dish that comprises tomato spaghetti served with squids, prawns, mussels, mushrooms, vegetables, red chilli, and other Thai herbs.

I enjoyed this sumptuous pasta dish very much! The noodles were cooked nicely al dente, and were infused with the rich flavours of tomatoes and Thai herbs. The seafood were very fresh, and I especially enjoyed eating the succulent prawns.

The Alfredo: Bacon, mushroom, and gorgonzola cheese sauce (THB250) was delicious. It felt good to indulge in the tasty bacons and mushrooms paired with creamy pasta. Can’t go wrong with this comfort food!

To cap off our meal, the wife and I had the Iced Mint Dark Chocolate (THB110). I enjoyed drinking the rich and milky chocolate topped with cream, and it even had a piece of fluffy marshmallow.

Chocolate Shop

The chocolate shop is housed in a separate building beside the restaurant. It sells an impressive variety of chocolates and chocolate products. There are tables available so you can also buy some pastries and dine here.

There is a bakery inside the shop with glass windows. I saw several workers tempering and baking chocolates inside, which was pretty cool.

I even saw some chocolates shaped like high heels!

Playground

If you are travelling with young children, there is a small playground outside the shop for them to expend their energy.

Conclusion

The Chocolate Factory, Khao Yai is definitely worth a visit. The food is delicious and you can shop for chocolates after your meal. There are also many good spots for photo ops within the complex. I visited with my family in December at 1pm on a Wednesday, and managed to get seats immediately.
