dusitD2 Khao Yai – Stylish Resort With Alpaca Farm, Treetop Private Dining, & Infinity Pool

During my holiday in Khao Yai (Thailand), I stayed for one night at the dusitD2 Khao Yai hotel. I had a pleasant experience here and this is my full review of the accommodation.

dusitD2 Khao Yai

dusitD2 Khao Yai is a modern and stylish resort located near Khao Yai National Park. It is part of the “Dusit International” hotel chain.

It offers spacious rooms with wonderful mountain views, a beautiful swimming pool, a treetop private dining pod, fun outdoor activities, and even an alpaca farm.

Many popular Khao Yai attractions such as Primo Piazza, The Bloom By TV Pool, Palio Khao Yai, Ban Mai Chay Nam Restaurant, and The Chocolate Factory can be reached by car in around 30 minutes or less from the hotel.

Children under 12 can stay free of charge with their parents.

Good Service and Hospitality

After our driver dropped us off at the hotel, the wife and I proceeded to the stylish high-ceiling lobby for our check-in. The receptionist greeted us warmly and completed our check in quickly.

After that, the hotel buggy transported us directly to our room. This was a nice touch because our legs were really sore after a whole day of exploring Khao Yai.

We did not encounter any unpleasant incidents at all during our short stay. The hotel staff were mostly very friendly and helpful.

Deluxe Room

We stayed in the Deluxe Room, which was spacious (36 square metres), modern and very clean. The king size bed was covered with crisp white bedsheets, and was plush and comfy.

The room has an elegant open-concept bathroom, with the bathtub located in the room itself. However, I was too tired to soak in the bathtub and only took a quick bath in the standing shower room.

The room has floor to ceiling windows that open up to a small balcony offering great views of Khao Yai National Park. It felt good to wake up to such a beautiful view of nature!

The hotel offers complimentary coffee, tea, and water. Last but not least, the room had free WiFi and the signal was stable.

Beautiful Surroundings

The hotel surroundings were beautiful! I was enamoured by the sprawling green fields, lush greenery, and vivid foliage. This was the perfect escape from hectic city life.

Decent Breakfast Buffet Spread

We had our international breakfast buffet at Musi Grill, a spacious restaurant in the hotel. The buffet spread was rather limited but the food was delicious.

The restaurant is flanked on one side with floor-to-ceiling windows, offering great views of the pool and the beautiful Khao Yai mountain range.

I started my breakfast with the standard bacon, ham, and sausages. It’s hard to go wrong with these!

After that, I helped myself to the pork porridge and added plenty of condiments in true Thai style.

There was an egg station too. I ordered scrambled eggs and an omelette.

The restaurant even serves comb honey, which is unprocessed honey taken direct from the honeycomb! Can’t get any more organic than this.

Children can help themselves to the cereal station.

Unfortunately, we did not have time to check out the pancake station.

Self-service coffee machines are available.

Make sure you try the fruits, which are super fresh because they are harvested from Khao Yai farms.

Lastly, the buffet also offers pastries and a salad bar.

Cocoon – Treetop Private Dining

Cocoon is a treetop pod that offers outdoor private dining for couples or small groups of up to 6. However, I’m not really sure if it’s a good idea to dine outdoor in a forested area; you would probably need to apply plenty of insect repellent.

Instead of dining here, the wife and I simply came here to enjoy the views and take some cheesy photos, as you can see above.

Other than Cocoon and Musi Grill, dusitD2 also has two chic bars that serve wine and cocktails. One of them even doubles as a cigar bar at night.

Beautiful Swimming Pool!

I was very impressed by the beautiful hotel pool, which is designed in the style of an infinity pool.

It has two large round lounge sofas with tables. I saw one family having breakfast on the sofa and it looked like they were having a good time.

There is even a pool bar, but it was closed when we went in the day. This awesome pool is definitely a great place to chill out both in the day and at night!

Alpaca Farm

I was pleasantly surprised to see a small farm housing adorable alpacas and rabbits. However, there were only two alpacas and two rabbits, and they looked rather lonely.

If you wish, you can buy food to feed them. The rabbit feed costs THB50 while the alpaca feed costs THB100.

Outdoor Play Area

We came across a small playground with swings, seesaws, and a slide. My nieces and nephews had fun playing here.

Outdoor Activities

I saw a large rock climbing wall beside the pool, but I do not know if the hotel staff are properly trained to ensure the safety of climbers.

dusitD2 also offers various outdoor activities like canoeing, biking, and hiking. However, we didn’t have time to check out these activities during our short stay.

Conclusion

I had a very pleasant one-night stay at dusitD2 Khao Yai. To be honest, I didn’t expect much of a hotel located in such a rural area, but it surpassed my expectations in every way. The room was modern and clean, the surroundings were beautiful, the breakfast was delicious, and the hotel amenities were great. I highly recommend staying here during your Khao Yai getaway.
