B-Story Cafe (Bangkok) – Beautiful Rustic Cafe Serving Delicious Thai and Western Specialties

Stepping into B-Story Cafe in Bangkok, it felt like I had been whisked away from the rush of the city to a different tranquil location altogether. This unique cafe was completely unlike any other Bangkok eateries I knew.

B-Story Cafe

B-Story Cafe is a beautiful garden themed cafe in Bangkok that serves a variety of Thai-Western fusion dishes. It is extremely popular with both locals and tourists.

It is hard to put a finger on the decor of the cafe, with its eclectic mix of European style furnishings, stained glass windows, mounted moose heads, whimsical chandeliers, cute animal sculptures, soft toys, and endless varieties of horticulture.

The cafe has two storeys, both decorated in the same whimsical manner.

Think of it as an artisan cafe with lovely attention to detail and interior design, where you can comfortably spend a lazy afternoon chilling out.

The wife and I visited B-Story Cafe on a Saturday at 2pm and it was fully packed. After waiting for about 15 minutes, we were lucky enough to be given window seats on the first floor.

Menu and Popular Dishes

The menu offers a wide variety of Thai and Western specialities, fusion dishes, and pretty desserts. The drinks menu offers a good selection of coffee, tea, and frappes. The prices are very reasonable.

Below are some of the popular items:

  • Spicy Wings (THB 135) – Fried Chicken Wing with Spicy Sauce
  • Nero Pasta Tom Yum (THB 320) – Squid Ink Spaghetti with Grilled Prawn and Tom Yam Sauce
  • Mac’ N Cheese (THB 180) – Macaroni and Cheese, with extreme cheese gratin crispy bacon
  • Pork Chop Pepper Gravy Sauce (THB 280) – Marinated Grilled Pork Chop with Pepper Gravy

Nero Pasta Tom Yum

A friendly waitress recommended us to order the signature Nero Pasta Tom Yum (THB 320), which is squid ink spaghetti served with a tantalising piece of king prawn and doused in tom yam sauce.

The noodles had just the right amount of bite and tasted great with the feisty tom yum gravy. And it was really satisfying to eat the juicy and tender king prawn. The prawn roe added a salty taste to the dish. On the whole this was a delicious fusion dish.

Spicy Wings

The Spicy Wings (THB 135) were very well marinated, with a rich savoury and spicy flavour. The skin was smooth yet crisp, and the meat was tender and juicy.

Conclusion

There are plenty of themed cafes in Bangkok, but B-Story Cafe definitely stands out with its rustic charm and unique eclectic design. The food is delicious and affordable (no service charge and VAT!) too. The cafe is conveniently located beside Ratchathewi BTS station.
