Khao San Road – Awesome Thai Food in Toronto (Canada)
While touring Toronto, Raevian and I weren’t expecting to stumble upon great Thai food. But this was exactly what we found at Khao San Road, a Thai food restaurant located along Charlotte Street in Toronto, Canada.
Khao San Road
Khao San Road offers delicious Thai food in a cozy space. This popular restaurant is known for its long queues during peak hours. We arrived at about 8pm and still had to wait for about 30 minutes before getting a table! However, the awesome food made our wait worthwhile. If you wish to, you can also get a seat at the bar, Bang Sue, upstairs. However we chose to sit downstairs instead.
Bustling Ambience

Red Curry ($16)

After waiting for a while, the dish finally arrived. Luckily, it did not disappoint. The curry had just the right amount of spicy kick, and the chicken was savoury and tender. I highly recommend going for the Thai Spicy level if you can take spicy food! I liked that the curry wasn’t overly milky, but still had a nice smooth texture. I really enjoyed the pumpkin too, which was chewy and especially sweet. I later found out that it was actually Kabocha, a Japanese pumpkin that is known for its sweet flavour.
Pad Gra Prao ($16)

Thai Iced Tea ($4.50)

Conclusion

With its fantastic Thai food and convivial ambience, it is no wonder that Khao San Road is so popular in Toronto. Even though we had to wait quite long for our food, it was definitely worth the wait!
