Yeouido Hangang Park (Seoul) – More Than Just a Park!

Yeouido Hangang Park is a large park in Seoul that is famous for being an ecological, cultural, finance, and political hub. Over here you will find beautiful green parks, government buildings, finance centers, corporate buildings, and media broadcasting stations. Music concerts and marathons are held here too! We were visiting in Spring, so we knew we had to go to Yeouido Hangang Park to revel in the annual Yeongdeungpo Yeouido Spring Flower Festival. We got to see thousands of beautiful cherry blossoms in full bloom along Yunjunro Road. The cherry blossoms line both side of the small road for about 6km, and was quite a sight to behold. Other than cherry blossoms, there are also many other pretty flowers in bloom such as spireas, azaleas, and forsythias. The cherry blossoms are usually in full bloom around early April; you can google to find out the exact dates.

Strolling along the tranquil Hangang River, we got to see the beautiful skyline of Seoul. Across the river, we also spotted the imposing N Seoul Tower perched on the top of Namsan mountain.

Finance and Government Centers


The Korean Stock Exchange is located at Yeouido, along with other finance institutions and corporate buildings. The National Assembly of South Korea, which houses the legislature, is situated here too. Because of its significance as a Government and Finance center, Yeouido is sometimes referred to as the “Manhattan of Seoul”.

Seoul International Fireworks Festival (October)

Other the cherry blossom festival in Spring, Yeouido Hangang Park is also famous for its Seoul International Fireworks Festival in Fall. This is a majestic showcase of colorful fireworks by both South Korean and foreign fireworks experts. There are also other events and performances going on.

There are several different ways to get to Yeouido Hangang Park:
Method 1. Take the metro to Yeouinaru station and go out from Exit 2 or 3.
Method 2. Take to National Assembly Station and go out from Exit 1.
Method 3. Take to Yeouido Station and go out from Exit 4.

    Hi Yessi, during winter there is an ice skating rink where you can pay to ice skate or do sledding. There will also be some festival stalls.
