The Daily Cut (Singapore) – Delicious Protein Salads!

The Daily Cut is a salad shop that specializes in healthy protein salads. It has three branches across Singapore. I visited the outlet at One Raffles Place. The first time I tried their salad, I was blown away by how delicious it tasted – I never imagined that something healthy could taste so good! This article was updated on 02 May 2019.

Outside the shop there is a small counter with pens and ordering forms. Above is a picture of the order form.

First, you need to choose your salad size: regular (one protein), large (two proteins), or beast (three proteins).

All three sizes come with 1 complex carb and 3 supplements. I normally go for regular ($12), because the portion is pretty big.

Protein
My personal favourite “protein” is the Chicken Thigh, which is soft, tender and succulent. I highly recommend the Tilapia Fillet too, which tastes extremely fresh and has a smooth texture, along with a nice savoury taste. The Turkey Breast is not a common choice but the firm juicy meat is delicious too.

Complex Carbs
For my complex carb, I usually just go with Brown Rice because I like its coarse texture and subtle musky aftertaste. And of course it has many health benefits as well.

Supplement
My favourite “supplement” has got to be the Sous Vide Egg. Basically the egg is cooked such that the egg white remains supple and semi-solid, with the luscious egg yolk ready to flow out anytime and engulf the salad with all its molten goodness. I enjoy many of the other healthy  supplements too, such as the button mushrooms, broccoli, walnut, quinoa etc.

Sauce
For the sauce (at the self-service counter), I usually go with Honey Mustard, as I like its sweet piquant flavour.

Bustling Atmosphere

During peak hours, the queuing time is between 15 to 25 minutes. Once you reach the counter you just need to pass your form to any of the friendly staff. During lunch hour, the small open-concept restaurant is very crowded and you would be lucky to get a seat. Normally I just order takeaway.

Conclusion

The Daily Cut Singapore
I work near One Raffles Place and every time I walk past The Daily Cut, there would always be a long queue. I always wondered if the food really tasted that good, and I’m glad I finally got to check it out. Thank you The Daily Cut, for showing me that healthy food can taste great too!
