Raevian and I were lucky enough to be invited to the grand reopening party of Kaffir & Lime on 22 Sep. The party was a blast, with plenty of sumptuous Thai foods, free-flow beer, a lucky draw, and even a live demonstration by Kaffir & Lime’s head chef who hails from Thailand!

Crispy Soft Shell Crab with Battered Morning Glory served with K&L Special Dip ($12.90)

To kick off the night, we tried the Crispy Soft Shell Crab with Battered Morning Glory served with K&L Special Dip ($12.90). The fried soft shell crab with the savoury batter was crunchy and delicious, and went nicely with the “Kaffir & Lime Special Dip”. This dipping sauce had a sweet tangy taste distinctive of Thai cuisine flair.

Chiang Mai Chicken Wings ($10.50)

Next up, we sampled Kaffir & Lime’s fragrant Chiang Mai Chicken Wings ($10.50). The chicken wings were crispy and savoury, and were complimented nicely by the fragrance of basil and garlic flakes. It is always hard to resist nicely done fried chicken wings, and I’m sure this dish will become one of Kaffir & Lime’s fan favourites!

Thai Basil Minced Chicken served with Jasmine Rice ($14.90)

This was one of our favourite dishes for the night. The basil minced chicken was cooked to perfection, with its taste enhanced by the warm fragrance of the Jasmine Rice. Kaffir & Lime has definitely done a fantastic job with this simple but classic Thai dish!

Deep fried Whole Sea Bass served with K&L Trio Dip ($22.90)

To be precise, Deep fried Whole Sea Bass served with K&L Trio Dip ($22.90). Ok, ‘deep fried’ is not exactly the healthiest but hey, at least we are trying. And you can’t blame us when the plate of deep fried whole sea bass looks so tantalizing! Not only did it looked good, it tasted good too. The fish meat was soft and tender and went nicely with the sweet tangy sauce “Kaffir & Lime Trio Dip”.

Thai Red Ruby with Sweet Coconut Ice cream ($6.90)

Kaffir & Lime Singapore - Coconut Ice CreamFor desserts, we had Kaffir & Lime’s Thai Red Ruby with Sweet Coconut Ice Cream ($6.90). It tasted A W E S O M E. This was my favourite food for the night! The delicate sweetness of the coconut ice cream romanced my taste buds and left me wanting more. Along with the other sweet toppings, this dessert was a harmonious blend of flavours that had me swooning from the first mouthful. (Note that the coconut husk was a special item during opening.)

Lime & Blood Orange Cooler ($6.90)

To wash down all the oily goodness, I had a glass of the mocktail Lime & Blood Orange Cooler ($6.90). This signature drink of Kaffir & Lime tasted sweet and refreshing and was a good way to cleanse my oily gut.

Along with the other signature mocktail Kaffir Spicy Mango Sparkle, these two concoctions were specially created and named after Kaffir & Lime.

Thai Ice Milk Tea ($4.90)

Kaffir & Lime Singapore - Thai Ice Milk TeaRaevian went with the Thai Ice Milk Tea ($4.90). Again, Kaffir & Lime does not disappoint with this classic Thai drink. The drink had the distinctive fragrance and smooth texture of traditional Thai milk tea, and was not cloyingly sweet.

We will definitely be making our way back to Kaffir & Lime to try more of their delicious Thai foods. Make sure to check out this restaurant if you’re in town!
