Himawari Japanese Restaurant, Alexandra Road8. Himawari Japanese Restaurant @ Alexandra
Himawari Japanese Restaurant is located at Alexandra Road, amidst an enclave of low-lying office buildings and quaint restaurants. It specializes in Japanese cuisine and steamboat, and offers both buffet and ala carte options.

The restaurant is modelled after a traditional Izakaya joint and has a pleasant ambience. We chose the buffet option, which consists of a Japanese steamboat (sukiyaki or shabu-shabu) and unlimited servings of ala carte items. We enjoyed our savoury shabu-shabu steamboat and the feast of homely Japanese food. We ordered the usual Japanese fare: sashimi, tempura, chawanmushi, edamame, agedashi tofu, yakitori, soft-shell crab, sliced pork/chicken for the steamboat, and many more.

We like going to this restaurant on a weekend because it is tucked away within a quiet enclave, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Indulge in an international buffet feast at The Line @ Shangri-La Hotel. The elegant and contemporary design of the restaurant creates a luxurious but comfortable ambience for its patrons. Service is impeccable, with the well-trained staff changing our plates and refilling our drinks consistently. With a delectable selection of fresh seafood, Japanese sushi and sashimi, Chinese cuisine, local delights, exotic Indian food and sinful desserts, this ranks as one of our top international buffets in Singapore. Tip: for some reason, The Line does not put crab claws at the seafood counter. However, you can request for them from the chef on duty. He will give you a few of the crab claws filled with succulent and juicy crabmeat!
